I gazed out my window on Friday night, watching the snow dance in the Jersey City street lights, and I knew, I knew I had to make this happen. Even if it meant getting up early. Even if it meant freezing off bits of my body. Even if it meant ruining a dress.
Bam.
It was 7:30 am, our street had barely been plowed, and the wind was whipping the snow into such a frenzy that we could hardly see. I felt like I could almost get the appeal of doing the Polar Bear plunge; I was so pumped about doing this shoot that I was running on adrenaline, so the cold barely registered.
I wanted to feel like a powerful Snow Queen, so I pulled this stunning black Simply Be gown from my closet. Its elegant high neckline, sleek fitted silhouette, feminine lace panels, and delicate tonal jewels made me feel like royalty.
The pure energy of the frenetic storm that enveloped me left me wondering, for just a millisecond, if I had the power to harness and control the weather, but after a sharp blast of snow to the face I remember…it was fucking cold outside.
The harsh slap of the snow woke me up, and I endured a few more photos before racing inside for the soft embrace of my unicorn onesie. Enjoy the rest of these icy images while I warm up with some cocoa.
