Sometimes I like to dress for the occasion… and sometimes I like to buck expectations and rock my personal style, location be damned. So when I knew I was heading to a winery with my more preppy friends I decided to go black & edgy. Nothing says Pennsylvania wine tasting than noir & spikes.
I’m a big fan of the maxi dress; it’s lengthening, slimming, stylish, and most important for a long day, comfortable. I could sleep in this maxi dress if need be. It’s very low cut on the front & sides, so I typically wear some sort of shirt over it to cover up a bit of my ample melons.
What better shoe to wander through rolling hills and rough gravel than 6 inch platform strappy & studded wedges? (I hope my sarcasm is obvious through the interwebs.) So… I didn’t really pick the right shoe for the occasion, but I did pick the perfect shoe for the outfit. Screw the idea of brown & black not matching; you just need the right shade of brown (closer to tan) and it works well with the ebony shade.
So, while I may have been wobbling all over the uneven ground, and I’m sure I stood out among all the normies, I was comfortable & chic as I tasted wine and enjoyed my vegan feast. If you’re ever in the area, I heartily encourage a visit to the Chaddsford Winery.
